Kona Big Kahuna 2011 Review – Please Comment and Give Me Your Opinions

For 2011 Kona extend their exposure in the big wheel market with the 2011 Big Kahuna. Featuring unique features this new breed of bike is represented well by this bike although less powerful riders may struggle with the larger wheels.

Kona decided to roll out with backswept bars regarding their new 29er which in addition to the steep seat angle use a strange riding position which are often slightly uncomfortable every so often, although the natural off-road riding feel an excellent is normally value the slight discomfort.

When riding in the rough stuff, the forks combined with the stiff frame takes it’s toll on your wrist & feet making long rides somewhat impossible, though the advantage of this is a nimble frame which is highly responsive, but hardly the best of both worlds.

Despite the presence of the particularly smooth easton wheelset the quality of ride usually is poor, something you can’t really cope with with any 1500 bike. The main upset of this Kona could possibly be the weight, featuring steel all around the frame to include strength the bike feels heavy when riding then when as well as the 29″ wheels it may be a real struggle to have the bike up anything in addition to the short grunt climbs.

One main good thing about the Kona Big Kahuna 29 is the fact each one of these problems, bar the load may be upgraded as required, although expensive compared to buying a more complex 29er for example the Giant XTC. Along with a big frame & wheel combination combined with perfect geometry the Kona Big Kahuna can be an obvious option for powerful riders and although it isn’t perfect, one of our advised bicycles for 2011.

Regardless of whether I Lose A Limb, I will Get Myself A Trendy Fresh Mountain Bike

I bought a hybrid bike a while ago and then I got really bored of it, the hybrid was perfect for commuting but when I made a new friend at work who was into proper outdoor things like Mountain Biking, I decided maybe that it was time to sell the Hybrid Bike and maybe change to a decent Mountain Bike instead. I mean, how embarrassing would it be if he suggested a nice day off-road bike riding and he turns up in the latest top of the range front suspension Mountain Bike, and then I arrive with my hybrid bike all pimped up with bike pannier bags, bell, rack and bike basket?

I realized I’d really treat myself this time, I’d personally buy a really fantastic, all singing, all dancing mountain bikes, especially with all of the money that I had saved from commuting on my Hybrid bike and selling my automobile. “Wow!”

I was thinking when looking at the top part end Mountain Bikes on the web, just as if it wasn’t bad enough seeing the costs with the better looking Hybrid Bikes, although the prettier Mountain Bike prices were ridiculous. I assumed I’d have got to sell some organs or limbs to cover the one of these brilliant fantastic looking Mountain Bikes, but then riding it might be a lttle bit tricky.

Finally, I came across a beautiful second hand 1998 model Mountain Bike, little bit rusty, but then so was I and beggars can’t be choosers I guess. I gave it a new paint job, got a few new parts for it and swapped the old “Tour De France” bike helmet that I used for commuting for a sweet looking full face helmet, perfect for my new Mountain Bike as it was the same colour I’d painted it. In fact I got the bike helmet first and then went to the DIY store to get the same colour mixed up for me to paint the Mountain Bike.

I had everyone fooled, especially my new friend from work. As soon as I turned up at the trail for an all day Mountain Bike session with my friend, he took one look at my new Mountain Bike and my new bike helmet and grinned, and that grin lasted the whole day as he watched me riding in front of him and his not quite so attractive Mountain Bike and non-colour matching Bike Helmet.

Look at mountain bikes at this awesome cycle shop! They sell all cycling equipment and cycling clothing at greatprices. Make sure to check them out!
